Discover West Jordan's Budget and Summer Happenings

Mayor Burton's May 2025 Message

Dear West Jordan Neighbors,

As May rolls in and summer kicks off, it’s time to get ready for construction, activities, and fun in our community—all part of the proposed city budget that invests in making West Jordan the best!

Roads and Construction
Over $9 million is proposed for better roads this year, with projects like 1300 West, widening 7800 South, and extending 8600 South on the list. And with a new gap-mastic machine—fun to say, even better at sealing cracks— making streets safer and smoother for travel.

Parks and Fun
The proposed budget is planting the seeds for even more places to play, with plans for new athletic fields at Ron Wood Park, upgrades at Veterans Memorial Park, and improvements at the Wheels Park.

Safety
Keeping crews ready is key, so the budget adds new cardiac monitors and defibrillators for every fire truck and ambulance to keep safety at the heart of it all.

You are welcome to read through the proposed budget on our website. Learn more about what a city budget is and what to expect by reading our budget crash-course article!

Thanks for supporting a summer of progress and a future wherein West Jordan can live, work, and play!

Sincerely,
Mayor Dirk Burton
